STARGATE V2.42d Firmware and WinEVM Software Setup
FULL INSTALL DIRECTIONS:
1) Create a new directory "C:\SETUP".
2) UNZIP SG242DSU.ZIP to that directory.
3) RUN FWTOOL (C:\SETUP\FWTOOL.EXE)
4) Click FILE | OPEN then select SG2_42d.HEX
5) Click LOCAL UPDATE (this will take 7-15 minutes to download).
6) Exit FWTOOL.
7) From C:\SETUP run SETUP.EXE to install WinEVM 2.42d.
UPDATE DIRECTIONS:
1) Close STARGATE WINEVM (Event Manager).
2) UNZIP to C:\STARGATE directory.
3) RUN FWTOOL (C:\STARGATE\FWTOOL.EXE)
4) Click FILE | OPEN then select SG2_42d.HEX
5) Click LOCAL UPDATE (this will take 7-15 minutes to download).
6) Exit FWTOOL.
7) Open STARGATE Winevm (Event Manager).
8) Click UTILITIES | SELF TEST, then click RUN, then YES to run Self Test.
When SELF TEST has completed, click OK to exit.
9) Click on the CLOCK icon, click READ, adjust as necessary, click SET,
click DONE to exit.
10) Re-download your schedule. SELECT ALL DOWNLOAD OPTIONS AFTER EVERY
SELF TEST.

- Corrected the DUART Lockup problem that occurs when mulitiple high
speed devices are used simulatiously on STARGATEs COM2 and COM3. The
symptoms included no serial data transmittion, a failure of COM2 & COM3
during self test and COM2 & COM3 self test passing after a power cycle.
- Corrected the Daylight Savings Time changeover problem.
- Corrected the sunrise/sunset calculation for Time Zone 0 during the
Daylight Savings Time period of April-Oct.
- Eliminated forced carriage return when sending ascii out with "\" at
the end of a line to the RS-485 port.

- RCS RS-20 Temperature Sensor: Added support for the RCS RS-20 Remote Temperature
Sensors. The RS-20 is an RS-485 temperature sensor that responds to the same

IMPORTANT NOTE:
For your first download after a Self-Test, it is essential to
select ALL download options to properly initialize STARGATE.
Incorporated numerous additions and changes, including:
- Enerzone Statnet Thermostat: Added support for the Enerzone Statnet Serial
Thermostat using the Proverter RS-485 to RS-232 adapter. Refer to Application
note #2, "Interfacing STARGATE to Enerzone Statnet Communicating Thermostats"
for detailed information.
- RCS RS-485 Thermostat: Added support for the RCS RS-485 Communicating Thermostats.
Refer to Application note #3, "Interfacing STARGATE to RCS RS-485 Thermostats"
for detailed information.
- HVAC IF Conditions: Added support for testing HVAC Modes and Fan states.
- Voice Mail Maximum Record Time: Increased maximum record time from 120
seconds to 240 seconds (2 minutes to 4 minutes)
- Caller ID ASCII Out: The 16 character name field is now included with the
Caller ID number when used in ASCII Out (10 character number + 16 character name).
- Recording User Voice Response: When recording a User Voice Response from the ICM or CO,
going ON-HOOK will automatically stop the recording. Previous versions would only stop the
recording after the record timeout.
- X-10 Preset Level ON/OFF: An X-10 device will be considered in the OFF state
when Preset Level of 0% is receieved for that device and the ON state for Preset Levels
greater than 0%.
Setup
1) Click DEFINE | X10 DEVICE. For each Leviton switch address (Housecode/Unitcode),
set the "TYPE" to "Extended". Click OK.
2) Click DEFINE | LIGHTING SCENES...
A) Select the appropriate Housecode for the Leviton switches whose scene you
are defining.
B) Select the Scene Number and enter the desired Name ("Evening", "Party", etc.).
C) For each Highlighted X10 Address in the list, click the down arrow in the
"PreSet Level" column and select the desired Preset Dim Level (from 0% to 100%)
for that scene. Select "Not Used" if you don't want the highlighted device
included in the scene. Then click "Load Scene" to send the data to the
corresponding switches. To test the scene, click the "TEST" button.
D) To create another scene for the same group (Housecode) of switches,
select a different Scene Number and repeat step C.
E) Once all scenes are loaded, click OK to exit the Lighting Scene Setup.
Programming
To add a Lighting Scene command to an event, select "Lighting Scene" as a then
action. Choose the desired scene name in the Lighting Scene list then click OK.
This will add a "Lighting Scene: [name]" line to the then section of the event.
Download the schedule.
- Offhook Detect: Some mechanical ringers produce enough back EMF that the offhook
detect circuit indicates a false offhook signal during the quiet period of a ring
cycle. The qualification for the offhook condition during a ring cycle has been
increased to provide more immunity to this condition.
- X-10 Preset Commands: An X-10 Preset value of 0 % will now set the modules state
to OFF, a Preset value greater than 0 % will now set the modules state to ON.
- Security Offset: The calculated Security Offset would not properly wrap around
as the calculated time approached midnight. This caused times using the security
option to occasioundly miss being triggered.
