Part remote control and part high-end wireless touch screen, The latest from Philips is the iPronto remote. But this product belongs to a new class of remotes. At $1,699 it belongs to the Digital DashBoard class of remotes, somewhere just below the AMX/Crestron units.

The new iPronto TSi6400 is a remote and a web browser. So you can control your TV and browse the web at the same time, or watch your webCam on the front door.

You get a five year subscription to a Electronic Program Guide to make finding your favorite show a breeze. The unit supports IR and wireless Ethernet (802.11b). There are also "Network extenders" that attach to your LAN that can be placed in a room and shoot out IR signals.

With the iPronto TSi6400 you can integrate your Home theater, Home Automation, and any thing else that is IR controlled.
