2007 The elimination of the telephone/IVR board was not a decision JDS Technologies wanted to make.  The main voice chips used in the telephone/IVR daughter board are no longer available.  The manufacturer has discontinued the chip and there are no direct replacement components available. 

So in order to provide a board with similar functions it would require JDS Technologies to developing a new design from scratch.  With the current trend toward web access, VoIP and cell phone usage in the home, the return on investment is questionable.  So JDS Technologies is decided to include the Web Xpander in current Stargates product line.  JDS Technologies is, however, looking into other solutions to provide some of the telephone and voice functions
