I have a PC set up in my office which is about a 50 foot cable run form the StarGate. The connection has been up and running for 6 months.

I took the standard JDS supplied cable and connected it to Comm1. I installed a telephone jack (568a pin out) Outlet next to the StarGate. Then took the cable from the StarGate comm1 and connected it to this jack. The jack is wired to another 568a jack in the office using a 4 pair cat5 wire. Then I use the standard Stargate cable form this jack, inthe office, to the DB9 adapter, Included with the Stargate, on the Comm1 connector on the back of my PC.

Using this type of connection you do not need to be concerned with the pin outs of the StarGate connector on the cable. Just make sure you follow the color code on the wires(4 pair cable) and the 568a jack.
